Our Hayloft studio is on the first floor at the end of a large barn on one side of an historic Grade 2 listed former farmyard. The studio has now been sympathetically renovated to provide cosy, comfortable and characterful accommodation.
The Hayloft at Church Farm is a studio with a full size double bed, a comfortable seating area, a small dining corner, a good sized kitchen wall and an en-suite bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. There is a full size oven, a domino (two ring) hob, microwave and wall mounted smart TV.
The barn is believed to be originally 18th century, but then substantially rebuilt in the 19th. The studio was created from the original hayloft using traditional materials as much as possible. The walls are of stone, insulated with fibreboard and sheepswool, the floor is oak, and the walls and ceiling are of lime plaster. Heating and hot water is provided from our biomass boiler, our electricity is green, the toiletries are ethical and natural, and we use ecological cleaning products as much as possible. We do our best to tread lightly on the planet, but also to make sure your stay is safe, clean and comfortable.
Our utility room is just underneath the studio, and we will be happy for you to share the use of our freezer, washing machine and drier, by prior arrangement.
The Hayloft studio is entirely yours. The hallway at the bottom of your stairs is shared with us, but it is not our main entrance to the house, so you are unlikely to meet anyone there. You can use it to hang coats and leave muddy boots.
You are welcome to sit in the courtyard which is shared with us, and with guests in the Stables Cottage adjacent to the barn. A short path from the courtyard leads you to our woodland glades where you can explore, relax, stroll, or have a picnic. Bikes and canoes can be stored in our locked garage by arrangement and we have an outdoor tap for hosing down bikes.
We live in the house adjacent to the Hayloft. We aim to greet you on arrival and are around should you need us, but otherwise we will leave you to yourselves.
Smoking and vaping are not allowed on the premises - guests are asked to do this outside the property.
You may drive into the courtyard to load and unload, but for longer periods, cars should either be parked in the road (it is wide and quiet), or in our private parking area through the adjacent gate, some fifty paces from the Hayloft door.

Church Farm is located by the church in St Briavels; we are the first property on the left down Mork Road, opposite the churchyard. Our postcode is GL15 6QE but be aware that some satnavs take people too far down Mork Rd so, if you come to a No Through Road sign, you've gone too far. If you use What3Words we are located at ///upward.enjoy.grownup.
